MG October is a fucken feast. Obviously the
Norwich music event of the year is happening; NORWICH SOUND AND VISION CONVENTION! Tere are some top notch artists and talkers coming to this brilliant event what is successfully putting Norwich on the worldwide musical map – if you have any interest in music at all, make sure you’re part of it in some way. Te whole month is just chocka, and it fills my fingers with joy as I even type the bands, so IMAGINE the joy you could get from witnessing them! Don’t go missing something you WILL regret.
Start the month on the4th with a nice little acoustic session at EPIC. Playing the bill will beBill Downs + Penny Hannant + Tom Pearce + Grant Ley.
Carrying on the acoustic trip, Dan Shears and the Velveteen Orkestraplay at OPENon the5th.Weilding the killer special combo move of enchanting falsetto

and delicate guitar mastery, Dan has known to gather acclaim such as picking up the quote “reminiscent of Bends-era Radiohead” and “a voice that evokes… Nick Cave, Morrissey, Frankie Valli.” High praise indeed.
Ten onSaturday October 6thtweeOFF! present their first show to us this month. And I like to think of this show as a warmer upper for #NSV2012, except this is a pretty huge show in its own right! Turbowolf + Black Moth + Te Broken Seas at Norwich Arts Centre. SCHWING!
Ten on the7th October, it’s the 212! Azealia Banks is at Te Waterfront for what will no doubt be a blast.
White Lungare a Canadian band who are AMAZING and who we at Gravy have wanted to see for a long, long time. (Stevie is part of the fan club, yo!) Tey play with Climax Change + No Fun at Te Red Lion, Bishopgateon Tuesday 8th October. If I was you I’d go and watch White Lung, but also on that night, Hot Chipare playing at the UEAand they are pretty great too.
Now we’re onto Norwich Sound and Vision! It is happening from11th - 13th at various venues all over Norwich! Tese are just a few personal highlights: Tursday 11th– Balaclava Kid and Dad + Arrows of Loveat theHog In Armour. Friday 12th– Cold Specks + Mary EpworthatNorwich
