THE BLUEBERRY – STILL JUICY!
Te Blueberry Music House has been known in Norwich as a music venue for decades, showcasing the best rock bands in the city and attracting great crowds every weekend. Now under new management, the Blueberry has decided to let those that not only rock, take its stage. With a number of music venues that provided a stepping stone for alternative up and coming acts shut down the pub feels it’s only right to broaden their horizons and remove the perception of the Blueberry being a rock covers pub and promote new original and exciting music in Norwich. Tere’s been some great nights recently, like the Reggae Showcase and performance from former Outline Band of the Month, Te Tinking Men, but they’re still looking for more, and need help spreading the word. With a stage big enough for any six-piece, a dance floor, a capacity of nearly 200 and license until 1am on weekends, the potential is there. Anyone looking to perform should get in contact; they always pay their acts fairly and promote the events themselves. With an open mic night in the pipeline, Sunday afternoon session and other events, you can check their latest activity on Facebook and Twitter (TeblueberryNR) to keep up to date with what’s on.

ART OF NORWICH 25
Art of Norwich, our city’s much loved umbrella gallery for the city’s finest artists celebrates its 25th outing, with their ‘Five Year Anniversary’ exhibition. It will mark the unveiling of the latest creations from over twenty-five of the region’s finest artistic minds. With half a decade of exhibitions already under their belt, showcasing the good, the mad, and the beautiful, they can, without a hint of arrogance, confidently promise another creative spectacular that will certainly be a crime to miss. Te world was quite different five years ago, when local self-taught artist, Ruski, was embarking on his professional career, and looking for suitable spaces to show off and sell his artwork and photography. Ruski was in search of a space where he could display his work alongside other artists, and so moulded his own space in St Margaret’s Church on St Benedict’s St, where the exhibition has placed its roots and grown organically from. Tis, the 25th incarnation will launch on 14th October at a viewing from 7-9pm, and will be open daily from 10am - 5pm until 27th October. Free entry – all welcome. JOSIE LONG RETURNS
Tose who had the privilege of witnessing Josie Long’s triumphant last show at the Playhouse Teatre, Te Future Is Another Place? were privy to the maturing of a comic with a strong voice, from the whimsical quirk she was once known as. Leaping from the peculiar to the political, Josie is no longer regarded as the fanciful funny comic she once was. Back with her sixth offering, ‘Romance and Adventure’ is Josie’s latest solo show that was deftly written in between her numerous and demanding other roles, which have included a six month run on BBC6 Music Saturday Breakfast, another sell-out UK tour, an appearance on Dave’s One Night Stand and her monthly comic strip responsibilities for Te Guardian. ‘Romance and Adventure’ marks the political awareness that has heightened in Josie over the last couple of years, that has reached the apex where she must take the plunge and share the enlightenment with others… in most jovial fash, obvs. Having received rave reviews already, don’t miss your chance to chortle as Josie returns to Te Playhouse on Saturday 13th October.
