us is the time most people begin to think of ways to celebrate it with meals out with relatives, friends and work colleagues, Christmas dinner, parties, fun.


The trouble is, by the time Christmas is that close it is probably too late to get booked into any catering establishment and the larger the group of people involved, the more impossible it is.


The fact is, booking for any Christmas related outing should be done when Christmas itself is but a dim promise on the horizon of consciousness.


So even though it’s only October, if you want to do anything at all to celebrate the festive season, now is the time to organise it. In short, book early to avoid disappointment.


So what might you wish to do? Well a celebratory lunch with work colleagues might be nice.


Most pubs, hotels and restaurants will have special menus for just such a party. They may also have sample menus for you to take away so each member of the group can choose in advance - essential for large groups of diners.


Be advised though, get each person accepting a place to give you a small deposit - a fiver say, just in case they decide at the last minute, not to come.


An evening celebration is very popular these days and again, most caterers will have special menus and often entertainment too, laid on.
