Dual Diagnosis Worker


• AfC Band 7 £36,552 - £46,374 pa incl • Based: The Gordon Hospital, Westminster • Ref: 333-011-AC • Fixed term of 12 months


We are seeking an experienced, clinically astute Dual Diagnosis Specialist Worker. Primarily located at The Gordon Hospital, Westminster, offering clinical input to the three adult acute wards, you may on occasion be required to work at our St Charles Hospital located in Chelsea.


Working within a highly motivated, integrated multidisciplinary team using a modelling approach, joint working clients, liaising with CMHT, in patient and substance misuse services, you will provide specialist advice on drug misuse (within the context of major mental health illness) to colleagues in the assessment, planning and treatment of clients.


Reporting directly to the Matron, you will have at least three years’ experience of working at Band 6 level or above (if a mental health nurse) including a year in dual diagnosis or substance misuse. You will have a proven track record in successfully managing staff through a modelling approach to work effectively with clients who present with co-morbid mental health and substance misuse problems.


You will have a thorough understanding of Clinical Governance and recent developments in public sector health and social services.

The hospital has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment programme and now offers both clients and staff a modern, light, airy and welcoming feel. Its central location means it is easily accessible by all forms of public transport and has a wealth of amenities at hand.

It is essential that you can demonstrate relevant post graduate experience, and currently be leading a team of staff and working with people with learning disabilities. In addition you will possess excellent management and leadership skills whilst being able to display expert clinical as well as professional practice attained through experience and theoretical knowledge. You must be a 1st level RNLD RN 5), in possession of a fi rst degree or other qualifi cation equivalent to level 9 of Scottish Credit & Qualifi cations Framework (SCQF) relevant post basic degree.
