Patient safety at risk with fewer NHS staff

Regarding the news story “NHS employee headcount down by 20,000” (nursingtimes.net), will senior management never learn that reduced nursing staff numbers equals a reduction in patient safety, an increase in both patient and carer dissatisfaction, and an inevitable huge increase in litigation?
