RV PARTS

parts@jubileerv.com Well the summer weather so far has been great, in most areas!
Finally! Unfortunately though, like most camping seasons the thoughts
of fall will slowly begin to creep in. T ere are a couple of things, with that in mind, an RV owner should do to prepare for the fall season. Since the exterior of your RV takes the blunt of all weather, it
is very important to protect the fi nish and the condition of the roof. While the weather is still so nice perhaps this is the time to do a complete wash/wax of the exterior and a wash/condition of the roof. Camco’s “Full Timer’s Choice” and “Protect-All” both make great products for washing/waxing and roof protection. Just make sure you don’t use any cleaners with solvent ingredients
as these can cause damage to the decals or roof seal. If your RV has a slide out, be sure to condition the rubber
seals and lubricate the drive mechanism. “Full Timer’s Choice”,” Protect-All” and “Th etford” all have products for this. T e sidewall of RV tires when exposed to the sun can suff er
from cracks around the bead. Covering your tires can help prevent this. Classic Accessories and ADCO both have standard and heavyduty vinyl covers for all the diff erent sizes of tires. Be sure to note the size of tire on your RV for proper selection. On a fi nal note, and I don’t want to say it, preparing for winter
should also be in the back of your mind. Every spring I hear lots of RV owners complain about the foul
taste and smell from the fresh water plumbing. Be sure to check with your RV parts and service department whether the anti- freeze they use will leave an aſt er taste. “Hall-Chem Premium Plumbing Anti-Freeze” so far has had great positive comments. “Hall-Chem” when undiluted has protection to minus (-) 51 C. It is non-toxic, non-fl ammable, biodegradable and contains NO alcohol. Check with your local dealer for further details about the products they use. Until the fall and winter seasons come, please get out and use
and enjoy your RV. Will talk to you all again in November. F

Jokes about German sausage are the wurst. How does Moses make his tea? Hebrews it.
This girl said she recognized me from the vegetarian club, but I’d never met herbivore.
I’m reading a book about anti-gravity. I just can’t put it down. I did a theatrical performance about puns. It was a play on words. PMS jokes aren’t funny; period.
I didn’t like my beard at fi rst. Then it grew on me.
Did you hear about the cross-eyed teacher who lost her job because she couldn’t control her pupils? Broken pencils are pointless.
I used to be a banker, but then I lost interest.

RV SERVICE
BY STEVE JOYCE, Service Manager Jubilee RV Centre, Kamloops, BC
service@jubileerv.com Well folks, hard to believe we are into the Sept/Oct issue already.
Days are shorter and nights are cooler. With that being said, be sure to have your furnace serviced
before the cool weather sets in. Unlike your other appliances, most furnace models today have no provision to see the fl ame characteristics inside the combustion chamber. Inside your furnace chamber, you will fi nd a burner assembly and a spark/ sense electrode. If you notice any type of popping sounds coming from your furnace, or the furnace is taking longer than normal cycling to fi re during start up, it is defi nitely time to have a thorough furnace cleaning and inspection done. Be certain that you have this service performed by a reputable
RV service centre. Just because a guy seems nice or his labour rate is cheaper than an established dealership, doesn’t mean he is qualifi ed to perform any type of propane service to your RV. In order to maintain a safe and functional furnace, your qualifi ed RV service technician will do the following:
• Remove furnace from your RV. • Disassemble the furnace for access. • Remove burner, electrode and pilot assembly if applicable. • Check burner for holes and or wear. • Inspect the spark/sense electrode for burn back. • Clean and service LP orifi ce. • Re-assemble furnace using new gaskets only. • Bench test of furnace. • Test motor for amperage draw. • Reinstall furnace and seal exterior venting.
• Confi rm correct working pressure of your LP system, and adjust regulator as required. Please have a wonderful “Fall” and talk to you again in
November. F
