Great Service at Roko in Vernon: While visiting Vernon, BC in June of 2012, our converter/charger

stopped working so we went to Roko Service on 43rd Ave for service. We also had a problem with our electrical breaker box and they called in an electrician who quickly fi xed the problem. T ey over-nighted a converter from Vancouver, and as soon as the

shop opened the next day they quickly installed the new converter/ charger and handled all the paperwork including pictures for our extended warranty company. T anks to Roko’s dedicated customer service, experienced staff ,

quick diagnosis and repair we were able to continue on our vacation without any further problems.

“GREAT” RV stopover on BC’s Hwy #3: My wife and I were on a bit of a “walk about” with our (new to us)

motorhome. We did a “shakedown” cruise going counterclockwise from Hope, BC to Edmonton, AB via the Yellowhead, then on to Calgary, AB and Lethbridge, AB then via Hwy #3 to Fernie, BC and points west until we arrived back at our home in Hope, BC.

T e location I wanted to comment on is the Riverhaven RV Park &

Motel. It is located in the Similkameen Valley, BC just west of the little town of Hedley. T e RV Park host is Rod Taylor and their number is 250-292-8221. T e unusual thing about this RV Park is the number of parking

positions set up for motorhomes so they can park with the front facing the beautiful river. T e power/water/sewer setup is all on the leſt side so we didn’t have to run extra length (under the camper) to get them hooked up. Most of the sites are pull-thru except those who were right at the river but that is the better (in our opinion) spots to observe the river wildlife etc. All the sites are packed gravel and reasonably level with grass all around. Some campfi re spots and all have nice picnic table. Full hook-ups at all sites with 75’ pull-thrus for big rigs. Fully shaded and grassed sites, sandy beach, pet friendly. We landed there around suppertime the fi rst day and were

thinking about setting up for supper. We did not have the towed car this trip. One of the Park attendants suggested visiting the little town of Hedley for supper as there is a beautiful old hotel converted to restaurant serving excellent meals. With this suggestion she off ered to drive us there and return to pick us up aſt er supper. NOTE: She has no fi nancial interest in this establishment. We took her up on the off er and enjoyed one of the best steaks of the summer. Service was great and cost pretty average. T e park lady was there to pick us up at exactly the right time and we were home again in 10 min. We ended up extending our stay for another day and enjoyed the surroundings completely, including watching the deer watering on the other side of the river and just relaxing with the sound of the water rushing past. Site cost (as of July 2012) ran $30 + tax and including WiFi. Oh yes,

we were even able to pick up four channels on the RV antennae for the news, when we tried.

Recommendation: We were traveling with our truck and 5th wheel when our truck

brakes started to overheat. We made it safely into Golden, BC, and set up camp at the Whistle Stop Campground. We mentioned our brake problems to the attendant who recommended that we go to Alpine Auto Centre. We phoned for an appointment and were able to get in quickly. On arrival at the shop, we were promptly attended to and our truck put on the hoist. T e staff was knowledgeable and friendly, explaining
