New York City Teacher to Visit Love Yoga A

of Myths of the Asanas, will host three asana-based workshops from September 7 to 9, at Love Yoga Center, in Naples. Kaivalya has written teacher training manuals for New York City yoga studios Pure Yoga and Yoga Vida; her teachings are modern and accessible, yet steeped in yogic tradition.


The workshops include Overview of the Kaivalya Yoga Method, offered from 7 to 9 p.m., September 7 ($50); Assisting


and Adjustments, from 1 to 4 p.m., September 8 ($85); and Ganesha, the Remover of Obstacles, from 1 to 4 p.m., Sun- day, September 9 ($85). Participants can register for all three workshops in advance for $175.


“This is Alanna’s third visit to our studio, and we can’t get enough of her wit and storytelling,” says Director Carla Olla. “She is also a wonderful singer, with her own solo CD; during her last visit, her songs brought many students to tears with their beauty.”

Volunteer for Coastal Cleanup Day

rea affiliates of Keep America Beautiful, Inc., are seeking volunteers to assist in the Ocean Conser- vancy’s Coastal Cleanup Day, September 15, at many sites in Collier and Lee counties. Keep Collier Beautiful, Inc., (KCB) needs volunteers from 8 to 11 a.m., at Delnor Wig- gins Pass, Vanderbilt Beach, Lowdermilk Park, the Naples Pier, Bayview Park, Rookery Bay, Tigertail Beach and Ten


Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, among other lo- cations. Keep Lee County Beautiful (KLCB) welcomes helping hands from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for efforts at Bonita Beach Park, Fort Myers Beach (register at Fort Myers Beach Elementary School), Bowditch Point Park, Causeway Islands, Bunche Beach, Matanzas Pass Preserve and other sites. Both KCB and KLCB are nonprofit, public education organizations that involve diverse groups to help keep our area waste-free through litter and marine debris control and prevention, recycling and education. The annual beach cleanups rely upon volunteers to help make a difference.
