n Athletics, Mayfield have achieved some fantastic results, with girls


competing individually and as a team. The Junior and Inter Athletics teams competed at the County Athletics round in May and both teams qualified for the Regional (B) Final, with the Junior team going on to win the East Sussex Region. The Inter team scored 280 and the Junior team scored 308 points, and exceptional performances were recorded by


Adelaide O’Conor (Inter), Lindsay Bushell (Inter) Zoë Yudowi (Inter), Mathilda Mace (Junior), Scarlett Vereker (Junior), Funmi Ademuwagun (Junior) and Caitlyn Stone (Junior).


At the Ouse Valley competition Mayfield retained their title, storming the girls’ event. Captain Zoë Yudowi brought home the trophy again.


Three Mayfield girls have also represented Sussex at the K2 in Crawley; Zoë Yudowi in the Long Jump, Mathilda Mace in the High Jump and Funmi Ademuwagun in the Shot Putt. Congratulations to all of you.

ports Day gave many girls another opportunity to enjoy Athletics and the event


was a huge success. Thank you to the staff, parents and brothers and sisters who enjoyed taking part in the fun races and a massive thank you to Miss Evans for organising sports day and to all staff who helped with timing and measuring.

n Tennis, the U13 team reached the final of the East Sussex


Aegon Tournament, beating Brighton College Prep and Moira House School. The team had to play singles and doubles and they narrowly lost to St Bede’s Prep in the final. Congratulations to Alejandra Dau Martinez, Alice O’Connell, Caitlyn Stone, Olivia Green and Jade Grant- Rennick. The most improved player this term is Alice Sikorski who at the end of the season was knocking on the door of the A-team!

reports the success of the Loveland sisters. Dulcie Loveland (Year 7) has recently been selected for the County Hockey training (JDC) at Tonbridge.


She is following in the footsteps of her older sisters Daisy Loveland (Year 9 - who has enjoyed representing Kent U14 Hockey team this season) and Lily Loveland (Year 12 – who was selected for the Regional Hockey Tournament - JRPC). Congratulations to you all and thank you for all that you do to promote Hockey around the County.


Zoë Yudowi gained the Elementary Russian Ballet Society Examination with Honours with Distinction. We congratulate Zoë on her Dance achievements and look forward to the senior Dance group performing in a Liturgical Dance in September 2012.
