GHOST WRITER What happens when we die? Well, at least for some, the relationship can

continue on even after death—Ghost Writer explores that phenomenon and the realm between life and death. Franklin Woolsey the acclaimed writer has died, but his devoted secretary stands at the ready, poised to take his dictation from the great beyond. His final masterpiece is yet un- completed and she insists that he will communicate the final chapters if only she is ready. Where do we draw the line between fantasy and reality? Directed by ITC’s Caryn Desai and written by Michael Hollinger who stated in his own words, “My mother had died shortly before I encountered this story and, through conversations with my father, I began thinking about ‘the presence of absence’— that is, the power that a departed loved one holds over us and how we negotiate the space left by that person.” Per- formances take place Friday, August 24 through Sunday, September 16 at International City Theatre in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.
