he 25th annual Arts for ACT Fine Art Auction fundraiser, benefitting Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc., presents An Evening of Art and Blues, at 5 p.m., August 11, at the Harborside Event Center, in downtown Fort Myers. Attendees can enjoy the music of the Blues Brothers and guest ce- lebrity Jen Chapin, while dinner and a live auction begin at 7 p.m.


More than 60 pieces of art, including an origi- nal work by Darryl Pottorf and a print by Robert Rauschenberg, trips and a one-of-a-kind necklace designed by Mark Loren highlight the live auc- tion. Silent auction items include art, trips, jewelry,


purses, a handmade quilt and other items. Artworks can be previewed at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison State College, in Fort Myers, through August 8. Featured artists selected by ACT are Stephen Gray-Blancett, David Belling, Tracy Owen-Cullimore, Lennie Jones, Christine Reichow and Paul Rodino. Singing the Blues, a piece by Blancett, head of design and production for Natural Awak- enings Publishing Corp, was chosen as the auction’s featured piece, and signed, limited-edition posters are available for $20. Postcard sets representing all six featured artists will also be on hand.


ACT, Inc., the domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking center serving Lee, Hendry and Glades counties, is a nonprofit agency with two shelters in Lee County, housing adult victims, their children and survivors for the past 34 years.

Unity Bookstore to Host Wellness Wednesdays

The speakers, topics and dates include Karen Cabral on Creating Sacred Space: Feng Shui for the Home, August 1; Dr. Karen Bilter on Discover Who You’ve Come Here to Be, August 8; author Donna Daisy on her book, Why Wait? Be Happy Now!, August 15; and Lucy Pulling Finch on Crystals for Well-Being, August 22.
