Remo Iafrate with the 10:10 students at Senate House

Dear parents, guardians and the whole school community

I feel so very proud and excited to become the new Headteacher of Villiers High school from September 2012, and firstly would like to say a big thank you for the warm welcome that I have already received during my visits this term.

Build on the strengths

It is an honour to join Villiers High at such an exciting time in its development.

I look forward to working with you as parents, guardians and with the local community to make Villiers the most popular and highest achieving school in Ealing, and one that you feel is an inclusive, warm and exciting place for everyone to learn.

Indeed, I promise to work tirelessly to build on the strengths of the school, of which there are many, and to make Villiers a community of learners with high expectations and aspirations, with equal opportunity; and with the power of ambition at its heart.

Trust and respect builds partnerships

I am already pleased to see that relationships between staff, students, parents, carers and with the community are positive, with a genuine respect for each other. This is important to me as I feel that relationships built on trust and respect will allow us to work in partnership with each other and to move forward. I will be dedicated to serving the needs of the unique and diverse local community that is Southall, and will make your children our priority.

Talented students achieve

Judging from the contents of this newsletter, this has been a busy and successful year for the school. Indeed, I have already been very impressed by the talents of our students which I saw first-hand at the AccessHE event at the University of London on 2nd July which you will read more about in this newsletter and the annual school magazine.

Furthermore I was delighted to meet some parents of our students who attended this event and will actively encourage more of you to witness

some of the fantastic work your children do to enrich their learning.

Students of Villiers are full of talent, and I will do everything I can so that every learner can achieve the highest standards of learning, and be proud of their achievements and optimistic about their future.

I am sure we will work closely together through the exciting times ahead of us. I am certain that Villiers High will become even more successful, and be a school that we all can be rightly very proud of.

I look forward to sharing many future successes with you.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable summer break and I will see you in September.
