Phoenix News
What a busy year it’s been! Phoenix house has once again impressed me with their enthusiasm and dedication to school and I am so proud to have led the house through its third year in existence!
Let’s see what’s been going on:
• Victory for PH2 – Both winning head boy and head girl candidates came from PH2 – congratulations to Gina and Nima; I very much look forward to working with you.
• Year 11 left with a few tears last May; we were sad to see them go but very proud of all they have achieved and we wish them well in the world.
• Randeep Sidhu won the Phoenix outstanding achievement award at the leavers assembly for the massive improvements he has made over the past year. Well done Randeep!
• Go Team Phoenix! We WILL maintain the trophy, and for the third year in a row, and WILL be the loudest and greenest of them all!
• Starting as we mean to go – the Phoenix Year 6 students came 1st
in the football tournament on Induction Day – we are very much looking forward to welcoming them all in September!
• I have been racking my brains in deciding who to nominate for the Phoenix STAR award and I have finally managed to come up with a top 3 – see who wins the trophy on 17th
July!
The sad news we have to report is that we will say goodbye to a few Phoenix Learning Leaders this year – we will be losing Ms Atwill, Ms DeRivaz and Mr Edwards as well as Mr McGonigle as he will be taking a sixth form group in September.
We wish them all well in their new roles and thank them for their hard work for Phoenix.
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer holiday and comes back rested and raring to go for a new academic year that I know will be our best yet!
Ms Johnson
I would like to thank everyone in VHS for helping me during my NQT year. I am sad to be leaving, but will be continuing my teaching journey in Lampton School. I would especially like to thank the Humanities Faculty for their support, advice and banter!

Aquila News
Miss Bevan and Aquila House feel very proud of our achievements for Aquila this year, where we were the winning house for attendance, house points as well as achievement logs.
Here are a few of the highlights:Aq3 and Aq5 organising and leading superb house assemblies on behaviour and the Olympics respectively.
• Vinay Nath collating 700 house points and having the highest achievement logs in the whole school
• Krzysztofa Wudzisnka (Aq7) having joint highest amount of achievement logs for Year 8
• Lekhika Chaudhary (Aq2) being offered sixth form places at some of the most prestigious schools in London. She starts at St Catherine’s Girls School in September. Good luck Lekhika!
• Aquila House winning the Inter House sports competition (a combination of all year groups in football, basketball, cricket, hockey, bench ball and lineball).
• The fantastic contenders for the Aquila Head Boy and Head Girl and their superb campaigns. Huge congratulations to Parmiss Kia (Aq2) and Mohite Navinchandra (Aq8).
Unfortunately, it is the end of another fantastic year and not only have we bid farewell to the Year 11s, we now say good luck and good bye to some of our amazing Aquila Learning Leaders; Miss Bannon, Ms Kuhn, Ms Gobi, Mr Balu and Ms Edwards, good luck in your new schools/careers.
And as I head off on maternity leave, I am sure that Aquila will make Miss Newbold a proud acting Head of House; keep up the excellent work Aquila!
Miss Bevan
