Message on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team Three celebrity visits for 2012

NEXT TERM will mark the start of a new era for Villiers High School, and we would like to welcome Remo Iafrate as the person who will lead the school into a bright and positive future.

Forthcoming changes for the good

We understand that there is much to do, and that our new Headteacher will need time to settle in, to get to know all of us, the students and the whole school community. Only then will he be able to prioritise what needs to be done, and we ask that every stakeholder in the school be patient and considerate, and to understand that not everything can be done overnight. Rest assured that plans are already underway.

We all feel absolutely confident that the forthcoming changes will be for the good and benefit of the children and community for whom we serve.

Juggy D paid the school a visit along with his film crew to meet Cindy Gill and chatted with teachers, while reminiscing about his time

at Villiers many years ago. Southall boy at heart

Despite living in the north of England, he still hasn’t forgotten his Southall roots. His show ‘This is Your Life’ will be televised soon on B4UTV.

Also, UK judo champion Tom Davis (pictured left) of ‘Team GB’ paid us a visit and spoke to

students about his success and dreams, and how he made it to the top of his field of sport.

The examination period is over, and we would like to extend our thanks to everyone in supporting our students through the process. Your children deserve a well-earned rest! They need to remember that what they put in to their studies will dictate what they achieve in the future.

We look forward to the forthcoming results days in August.

See further details on this in this newsletter. On behalf of the SLT and all staff at Villiers, have a fantastic summer break, and we look forward to seeing you all, and Mr Iafrate in September.

And finally; Will Self; (pictured below) the famous

author, journalist, satirist, TV personality and comic came to stretch the minds of year 9 students, with the aim to get them thinking, forming opinions and debating controversial subjects in a way they never had before.

Respect everyone’s views

He really pushed to challenge him about the things he was saying while making it clear that disagreeing with someone isn’t the same as disrespecting someone and that everyone’s views should be respected and considered regardless of whether they are different to your own.
