Dear Parents and Guardians
If your child/children currently gets free school meals with us, please can you remind them that they must get their diaries stamped when they return to school for the new term (September 2012). They can either see Mrs Sohal or Ms Mohan in the school office. If they fail to do this, it may result in the canteen staff refusing to give a meal until their diaries are stamped.
(For New Parents) If you have a child moving from Year 6 to Year 7 in September 2012 and you think your child is entitled to free school meals, please feel free to come into the reception and ask to speak to either Mrs Sohal or Ms Mohan who can advise you on what you can do.
Prescribed medications only
Please can we politely remind all parents and guardians that students are not allowed to bring any type of medication to school unless it is ‘Prescribed by a GP’ e.g. Asthma pumps, insulin for diabetics, antibiotics, Penicillin etc. Any student found with any type of medicine on their person will have it confiscated and locked away until a parent or guardian can come and collect it.
If you have any questions or queries regarding any of the above, please feel free to contact Mrs Sohal or Ms Mohan in the school office. Tel: 0208 813 8001
Regards Julie Sohal
School Uniform We have had a number of queries about uniform, in particular the summer uniform.
I have spoken with the HoLs and can confirm that mainly black or dark blue coats can be worn outside. If these coats have a hood it must not be pulled over the head.
They must not have brightly coloured logos etc. There is no need for scarves or gloves in summer. If girls are wearing the blue polo shirt they are allowed to wear a short sleeved white tee shirt under it.
Base-ball jackets, sports jackets, denim or leather jackets are NOT permitted.
Please can parents ensure that these guidelines are followed. Mr Curran

The sixth form induction day at the
Induction day a success for our future stars!
YEAR 6 students from all of our feeder schools were invited to attend Induction Day at Villiers High School on Friday 29th June. There were several tears and nerves from both students and parents as the Year 6 students made their first big step to high school.
Pupils engrossed
But as the day got under way, with pupils assigned to their school houses, any worries were soon forgotten as pupils became engrossed in each of their subject sessions which included Art, Music, Technology, Maths, Humanities, ICT, English and Science.
At the same time, parents and guardians were given tours of the school and had the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session run by the PBM’s and some office staff.
Great motivation and effort
The afternoon concluded with all students participating in a very popular football tournament and an extremely competitive set of athletic challenges. The day was a great success with many of the Year 6 pupils awarded with certificates for their motivation and effort throughout the day.
We look forward to seeing you all in September!
