Avocados for weaning.

A

vocados contain lots of the essential vitamins and nutrients your baby needs. They are high in Vitamin K, E, B6, C, Folate, Fibre and Potassium.

They are a source of unsaturated fats which are good for the development of the central nervous system and brain.

They also help the body to absorb more fat soluble nutrients eaten at the same time such as alpha & beta carotene (found in sweet potato) and lutein (found in spinach).

They are an ideal base for weaning recipes as they can be mashed up easily and mixed with a variety of other fruit and vegetables.

Spinach & Avocado: Wash some Organic spinach, shake it off, then place in the freezer for a few hours. When it is frozen through, you will find it will crumble into tiny pieces which can be used raw, or gently cooked in a little water for a few minutes first to soften, then mash up with the avocado.

Sweet potato & Avocado: Peel a small sweet potato and dice into 1cm cubes, coat with a little oil and bake for 20 mins or until nice & soft. Let it cool, then mash with the avocado.

For a sweet treat try avocado and banana mash, or avocado mixed with ice cream!

By choosing Organic produce, you can be sure your baby’s food has not been sprayed with harmful chemicals or pesticides. Better for everybody!
