Kent staff lead local government rich list
PUBLIC sector workers in Kent, Tonbridge and Malling, and Maidstone, are among leaders in the Town Hall Rich List – a “Who’s Who” of local govern- ment top earners. A record 3,097 staff nationally earned over £100,000 in 2010/11, up 13% on the previous year. The largest remuneration pack-
age in England in 2010-11 was received by Peter Gilroy, chief executive ofKCC,with £439,071, although this includes a redun-

£29,000), David Edwards, direc- tor of change, planning and envi- ronment, £126,000 (salary £94,000; benefits in kind £5,000; Pension contributions £27,000), Zena Cooke, director of regenera- tion and communities, £123,000 (salary £93,000; benefits in kind £4,000; pension contributions £26,000). Kent had 34 employees earn-
ing above £100,000 – putting it joint fifth in the league of top earning local authorities.
Tycoon Shah in Town ban for Asbo twins

TWIN girls have been banned from West Malling town centre after a three-year crime wave, which included assault on po- lice and theft. Eighteen-year-olds Chelsea Shannon Scott and Leonie Vicky Scott, of Eccles, have been given a two-year anti-so- cial behaviour order after caus- ing a repeated nuisance and committing numerous public order offences in the West Malling and Aylesford areas. After hearing a litany of of- fences, including assault on po- lice, criminal damage, shoplifting and harassment, Sevenoaks mag- istrates granted the Asbo from May 9, 2012, to May 8, 2014. The order bans the twins from

A GARDEN shed to the rear of a property in Stirling Road, KingsHill, was broken into and golfing equipment stolen. A man’s bicycle was taken
from the communal area of a property in The Lakes, Larkfield. Three bikes and a
boxed CCTV sys- tem were stolen from a garage at a property in Stir- ling Road, Kings Hill.

gate andpostofa property in Station Road, Aylesford,has been damaged, consistent with being kicked. The number plates were
stolen from a vehicle parked in Heron Road, Larkfield. A window was smashed and
a door lock damaged on a van parked in Townsend Road, Snodland. Nothing was taken. A car parked on the driveway
of a property in Bow Road, Wa- teringbury, had a window smashed and the ignition barrel forced. An outbuilding in the garden of a home in Offham Road, West
Malling, was broken into and two hedge trimmers and two power drills taken. The spare wheel was taken
from under a vehicle parked at commercial premises off Wood Close, Aylesford. A quantity of cop- per cable has been taken from the yard of a commer- cial premises in Trottiscliffe Road, Addington. A Royal Mail
post box was taken from Wateringbury Road, East Malling.
