Dave takes over as mayor


CLLR Dave Davis, who repre- sents Burham, Eccles and Wouldham ward, will beMayor of Tonbridge and Malling for the forthcoming year. Born in Dorset in 1945, he at- tended schools in the Orpington and Bromley area and started training as an Army officer at Sandhurst in 1964. He was commissioned into the


Royal Engineers in 1966. Later in his Army career, he became a chartered civil engineer, follow- ing secondments to industry with civil engineering firms, and is now a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. During his Army career, he


saw service in Germany, North- ern Ireland, Norway, Cyprus and Canada. He retired from ac-
