Birmingham is just the business for easyJet ! Business travel

The chamber is the largest in Northern Ireland, with a membership of almost 1,000 businesses. It recently celebrated its 230th anniversary at a gala ball in Titanic Belfast ‒ the first business event of its kind in the new iconic building.


The Birmingham service will increase easyJet destinations from Belfast International to 23 ‒ equalling the highest number of routes the airline has operated from the airport.

easyJetʼs new route from Belfast International Airport to Birmingham has been welcomed by Ann McGregor, chief executive of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce.


The inaugural flight will take off from Belfast on 22 October and for the first week there will be a daily service. Then from 29 October there will be two flights a day on weekdays, and one on Saturdays and Sundays.


Flights are now on sale at easyJet.com, with fares from as little as £22.99 one‑way and £45.98 return (incl. taxes). Ms McGregor said: “The UK Midlands is a vital trading centre for Northern Ireland

“Our schedule, with flights operating at peak morning and evening times, also reflects our continued focus on meeting the needs of the business community, as well as offering leisure travellers affordable access to the Midlands.


“In the past year alone easyJet has also launched services to Manchester and, most recently, London Southend.”


Speedy train links


Access from Birmingham Airport to Birmingham International railway station takes less than two minutes, using the SkyRail train service that operates every two minutes. Birmingham International station offers direct


access to business centres throughout the region. Travellers wishing to access the heart of Birmingham will be able to do this easily with a 10‑15 minute rail journey to New Street station.


Ali Gayward added: “Birmingham also offers access to many attractions for leisure travellers. Shakespeare Country, including his birthplace in Stratford‑upon‑Avon, is conveniently located to Birmingham Airport. “There is also a host of attractions in and around Birmingham, from the National Motorcycle Museum, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Premier League football, to major events at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre), and Christmas fairs.

easyJet’s Belfast debut for Airbus A320


easyJet is to increase the number of passengers it will take from Belfast to leading holiday sun spots during the peak summer period. To help meet passenger demand, the airline is to fly an Airbus A320 aircraft from Belfast International Airport for the first time. The aircraft has 180 seats ‒ 24 more than on the Airbus A319s that are currently on easyJetʼs routes from the airport.


Flights are now on sale and it is expected that around 2,000 extra passengers will travel when the A320 joins the A319s.


The A320 will be used on routes to popular sunshine destinations such as Alicante, Faro, Malaga and Palma, as well as to Amsterdam and several domestic destinations. Ali Gayward, easyJet commercial manager,
