June 2012 MAINE COASTAL NEWS Page 23. From the Director of DELA Continued from Page 11.
Please be advised that a Request for Propos- als (RFP) has been released by the DMR, for an independent analysis of Maine’s lobster limited entry system. Even if you are not personally interested in submitting a pro- posal, we hope that you will share this oppor- tunity widely with any colleagues who may be interested in carrying out this work. The RFP may be downloaded from this address:
http://www.maine.gov/dmr/rfp/ index.htm
Please contact me if you are planning to submit a proposal so that I can ensure that you receive the answers to any written ques- tions regarding the specifications of this RFP.

This notice is very important if you want to speak to the Maine Legislature concerning your feelings about your waiting list in your zone. There is still time to go on line and send your statement or if you would like to write a letter and drop it in the mail.
I have also included the meeting list for the LAC Market Subcommittee outreach meetings that will be held in June. The project is called: PROJECT MAINE LOBSTER: Build Global Demand.
I am on this subcommittee, so if you have something that you would like to speak with me about, please feel free to contact me at any time. Once again, my e-mail is:
dassatt711@yahoo.com and my cell phone is 207 322-1924. If you can possibly attend one of the meetings in your area, John Sauve of the Food & Wellness Group (the blueberry guy)! – has a very good presentation and is open to all of your suggestions. John tells us that he learns a lot from the fishermen about the harvesting side of the discussion. Please, help him to put this all together so it will work for everyone to the best of our ability. We have also had a lot of communica-
tions with our Facebook site as well as trying to maintain more news as time goes on with Maine Coastal News. Jon Johansen attended our last meeting in Belfast, which was held at the Dockside Restaurant. He was open for questions and suggestions. He also told the board that we are working on establishing Constant Contact for those of us that have web communications. Please contact me if you have anything that you want the asso- ciation to know right away. This will be up and running soon. Also, our ads are getting in our section of the paper. Jon needs the pdf form of the logos, and with this change, a lot of our advertisers are updating their ads. This has been a very positive piece of work that has inspired the advertisers to work on new ads! DELA would also like to thank Marty Hamblen and International Special Risks, Inc. for their generous donation of $2,500.00! Every donation helps us in such a big way. DELA is a licensed non-profit association that is self-supporting, so when one of our members places a donation, it continues to keep our presence going strong in the indus- try.
We have insurance agencies in all of the areas of the coast that can help you with your boat insurance. Please feel free to contact us to find the agency closest to you. Please, stay safe and perform your safety check list before you leave the dock and after you leave your mooring when you get in.
See you around the dock, Sheila SHIP MODELS & KITS
