her deck framing and deck replaced. This was done using 1/16 inch mahogany veneer laid over marine plywood. She also received a new windshield, covering boards and elec- tronics.
A 1947 Century Utility was in and re- stored. She received a new keel, garboards, and ceiling. They also removed her engine, a Gray Marine Phantom, which was redone.
Lash Brothers in Friendship has been busy with repair work this spring. Presently in the shop is a Young Broth- ers 35, which had her starboard side painted, a rebuilt 370-hp Volvo put in, changed engine from fresh to salt water cooled and gelcoated some spots.
Previously they put hatches, repow- ered, did some fiberglass repairs, and painted the bottom on a local lobster boat. They also did the general maintenance on a Holland 38 lobster boat.
With spring upon us, they are now start- ing on some of their storage customers. Some are even sailboats.
York Marine in Rockland has an Able 36 powerboat in the shop. They have added a genset and air conditioning, Awlgripped the hull and deck, did a bottom job, added full length spray rails, windshield, put in a new overhead, did some wiring, new dash with all
new electronics, added new galley joinerwork, and installed an entertainment center with WiFi.
A Morris 34 sailboat is in for a complete restoration. They are about 25 percent done. A Hinckley Bermuda 40 has had some of her interior removed so they call install some carbon fibre gussets. She was developing a problem with her rigging and carbon fibre mast lifting the deck.
They replaced the control system for the jets on a York 42 and they added a new jet control and electronics for a Hinckley 36 Picnic boat.
Three Norse 21 foot sailboats are being finished with more on order.
Next, they will begin tooling on a 28-foot powerboat.
Billings Diesel and Marine in Stonington has done several major projects this winter.
A complete restoration on a 1927 Chris Craft has been underway all winter for a customer from New Hampshire. She has re- ceived a new keel, bottom frames, chine re- pair, and then they cold moulded a new bot- tom on her. They have just finished a new forefoot and now she needs some topside planks, covering plank and aft deck redone.
