Multi-million pound Birmingham


redevelopment Thousands of square metres of Kingspan Structural Product’s Multideck 60-V2 has been installed as part of the new office and retail building, Two Snowhill, currently being constructed in Birmingham city centre. The building forms the second stage of the multi-million pound Snowhill development, providing sought after Grade A office space in central Birmingham. Construction on the development is being overseen by project managers CSL Ltd and main contractors Balfour Beatty, on behalf of developers Hines and the Ballymore Group. When completed, the 20- storey building will contain 302,000sqft of office space and a further 8,000sqft of retail space. Kingspan Multideck 60-V2 remains one of the most popular decks in the market with the deck’s unique profile allowing it to save up to 20 percent concrete volume compared with typical re-entrant profiles. Lancasters gets


state-of-the-art gym motive8, one of the UK’s leading health and fitness consultancies specialising in gym design and fitness training, has unveiled a new 4,000sqft residential gym and spa at The Lancasters, the iconic residences overlooking Hyde Park. The central London redevelopment from developers Northacre and Nilsson Architects showcases a French Renaissance-style ambassadorial terrace, which includes a spa, 15m x 4m pool, steam room, sauna, treatment room and fully equipped gymnasium. motive8 was introduced to the project by Qube Management, The Lancasters’ management


company. Having worked with motive8 on past developments, Qube recommended motive8 to Northacre and Nilsson to manage the design and build of the health and fitness facilities. motive8 was responsible for the design and fit out of the gym, and for two years, has also been acting as a consultant, advising on the overall layout of the rest of the facilities and ensuring they were fitted out to their specifications. church template set D R Services has recently finished a job for a church in London Fields, which could become a template for other churches across the land. St Michael and all Angels installed six glass doors to mark the 50th anniversary of the consecration. The idea was to create a public space which would be open at almost any time, a bit like a bank lobby. D R Services was recommended for the job by Rees Bolter Architects. The company installed three pairs of electric locking doors. The church was originally built with huge white painted doors that had tiny visual panels. Although this is the first job of this kind that D R Services has done, it will not be the last. The company is currently at work at
