Stunning venue, great line-up at trials and fair
THE2012 Glanusk International Horse Trials andCountry Fair promises agreat line-up of sport and entertainment. With manylevels of the sport of British
eventing taking place from July 5-8,there really is something foreveryone. Competitions range from BE90;novice; intermediate;
National Junior
Championship and CCI International. This year,organisers are proud to launch
the Welsh Open, anew competition forthe professionals of the sport, which promises to
set the scene forsome great spectator sport at Glanusk. Visitors to the Country Fair Arena will
see amyriad of country pursuit displays to include lusitano quadrille, miniature horses, shire horses, falconry,dog scurries and retrievals. On the River Usk, the WyeValley
Casting Club will compete and give visitors areal glimpse back to the vintage days of fishing in Wales. There are also championship sheepdog
trials which will culminate in adouble gath- er on Sundayafternoon. Over the last couple of years, asuperb
range of exhibitors has been developed for the enjoyment of visitors and there is also a popular children’s playarea which includes a fun fair;archery; face painting and climbing wall.

THE Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) has been selected as the event charity for the 2012 Glanusk Horse Trials and Country Fair. Staff and volunteers from RDA National and South Wales Region will be working together to organise dressage and musical ride displays and host an exhibition stand at the event from July 5-8. “We are delighted to have this support from Glanusk Estate owners Iona and Harry Legge-Bourke who have in previous years raised an outstanding amount for charity by doing amazing fundraising challenges,” said Sally Atkinson, individual giving manager at RDA.
