SELL or KEEP At sixteen I had my first hot rod, a

1949 Mercury. A great car for high school, but then the Navy was call- ing. In more recent years I owned a ‘50 Mercury, a 1927 Ford Model T, the same one that Dana Wiltse dec- imated with eleven Hooters girls. And now I own a 1935 Hudson Ter- raplane.

I’m always asked the question,

“What is your favorite car?” I always answer the same, “Love the one you’re with!”

The Hudson was originally built by Glen Reeves and was a ten year restoration. She has a 1979 Chevro- let 350 with 9 to 1 pistons and roller cam. I added the beautiful Endura Shine #14064, 600 cfm, square- flange, electric choke carburetor and Edelbrock Endura Shine intake manifold #270214, plus an Edel- brock Endura Shine water pump #88104. You can’t get these beau- ties dirty! Who would have thought that you could clean your engine with Windex?

tang II IFS front suspension, coil springs, disc brakes, rack and pin- ion steering She has the original Hudson rear leaf springs with Mon- roe gas shocks all around and rear drums. The body is all stock. Glen is a great fabricator and fabricated stainless the steel grill and firewall, and several other trim parts. Then he painted her with PPG Delstar 9000 black.

The air cleaner is a Holly High-

Performance Hi-Tek #64280. It has electronic ignition and the headers are Hedman with stainless steel ex- haust. The drive train is a Chevrolet 350 Turbo transmission with Gennie shifter, 1985 Ford Ranger rear end with 3.45 gears.

The chassis is 1935 Hudson and Glen boxed it in adding new cross members. He also added the Mus-

Glen kept the interior with stock seats, but added power to the front seat with tan and brown fabric. He reworked the stock instruments. Then he installed additional clas- sic gauges in a custom overhead console. I added the Pioneer DEH- P4000UB AM/FM/Sirius Receiver/ CD Player. It has an I-POD docking station in the glove box and J1 Au- dio 4 Channel Amplifier and Stinger amp kit. It also has four 6.5 Coax Speakers and one J1 Audio 10” subwoofer in trunk. The tires are 14” X 6” front and 15” X 7” rear Dayton wire wheels. 195-75R14 front and 235-75R15 rear Coker wide white sidewalls tires.

The Hudson has two personali- ties. She’s a jewel at weddings and we’ve raised thousands of dollars for charity. Also, with the flip of a switch, the exhaust comes straight out of the headers, giving her a real gangster car feel.

With over $150,000 in this beau-

ty, why would I ever sell? Truth be told, I have been seeing someone else. She is a little ‘32 Ford Truck. That means I would need to sell my beautiful Terraplane for $75,000. That would be crazy, but you’ve got my number. And if you have a great car or bike story that you want pub- lished in Florida Hot Rods & Hogs, please feel free to contact us.
