“You always take, you never give – “ Raw wind ranting in my ear “why on this sea should I let you live?” forcing the stench of bait down my goose throat.


We have snatched what the sea made shell biscuit sand and bruised blue, the colours of prehistory soon to be flushed red by the boiler’s breath.


Running for home, a gull posse in pursuit, tongues sharp with the taste of blood and salt.
