Two Old Toms
Old Tom, the ex-cabbie Lives alone with his tabby; No money to mention, Both live on his pension.
Old Tom and his master, They share the same space. His paws and his hands, His shaking, his grace.
Bedazzled, bewhiskered; Besotted, beguiled ; Each cares for the other, His favourite child.
Old chap in a flat cap, And Tom through the cat flap, Return from their jaunts From their separate haunts.
Softly purring together, Both twitching their ears; Each Tom nine years old - Nine years old in cat years.
