Francis is a perfect front man and vocalist for the band, with his “madcap and zany” demeanour (no offence intended Francis!) you can be assured of pure entertainment from this great singer. Another familiar face in this band is drummer Jez Woods. Jez is the manager of one of the most established entertainment venues in Torrevieja.... “The Lounge Bar”! Ian Hutchins and Bill O’Brien feature on guitar/vocals, these two veteran musicians alternate between themselves playing both lead and rhythm parts.
Hi All! I am delighted, yet again, to bring you news of another recently formed band here on the South Costa Blanca. “7 Tease” are a group of friends who have come together to form an exciting new project. The inspiration behind this venture is to create a musical band playing all the classic songs from the 1970s era of popular music. I know all of these musicians personally from other musical projects that they have each been involved in in the past, so I was very keen to hear this new creation for myself. The line up of the group is as follows: Francis Symons is the lead vocalist and “front man” of the band. If this name sounds familiar to you, Francis has his very own recording studio at Torre de Horadada and over the years, has recorded and produced CDs for many of the local artistes that live and work in this area. In addition to this, Francis is a music retailer and can supply new equipment for any musical needs from instruments to karaoke products.
Last, but certainly not least is Nigel Philip on bass guitar also providing vocals. Nigel is, without doubt, one of the most talented and versatile bass players that I have heard in a very long time. “7 Tease” have amassed a repertoire that most of us can relate to and will remember very well. Amongst the classics that they cover include songs from Slade, T Rex, David Bowie, Edison Lighthouse, The Bay City Rollers, Thin Lizzie, Roxy Music, Cockney Rebel, Blondie, The J Geils Band, Mud, Badfinger, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Racey, Rod Stewart, Pilot, Alvin Stardust, Sweet and many, many more. This great band are playing alternately between the Lounge Bar and St James Gate at Torreta 2 on a regular basis, so if you want to be highly entertained with a trip down memory lane back to the 1970s, check out the local press for details. I had a most enjoyable evening listening to this band, and would highly recommend that
you see them for yourselves!
Bye for now. D.P.
