She is powered with a 500-hp John Deere diesel with a 2.5:1 Twin Disc gear and a 32 x 34 four blade propeller. On sea trials she did 22 knots.

The pro- gram continued with the QH-50, known as SNOOPY, which were reconnaissance flights used in Vietnam. They also used these to test anti-aircraft missiles and air defenses.
Even after the last one rolled off the assembly line in 1969, Gyrodyne continued to supply parts. The company moved to Los Angeles in 1999 and tried to rekindle interest in the DASH. With a lack of support from the Department of Defense Gyrodyne ceased operations shortly after.
Buxton Boats at Sunset on Deer Isle is in the process of lofting a wooden boat for a local owner. This boat is the second one designed by Peter Buxton and is 38 feet in length with a 13 foot beam. He made some changes from his last one, which was 36 feet in length. He has made the stem more plump, given her a narrower entry and the buttocks lines are little straighter aft. She will be con-

pleted last fall and stayed in storage at the yard for the winter. Her owners are from Buffalo, NY and made their first trip to the yard the end of March to see their boat for the first time. TRILLIUM was loaded on a trailer and they drove her home where she will sail out of the Buffalo Yacht Club.

S. W. Boat Works in Lamoine has a number of boats on order and they will be busy right into the fall.
They are putting the final touches on a 38 foot Calvin, which is being finished out as a yacht for a customer from York. The final touches included wiring, woodwork and sys- tem hookups. When these are done, she is scheduled to head to Morris Yachts to be painted. She is powered with a Cummins QSM 670-hp diesel engine. They hope to have her overboard in May.

Another 38 is being finished out as a sport fisherman for a customer from New York. She is just being started and they are installing the engine, which is a Cummins QSM 715-hp diesel. She will be done this fall. There are number of other hulls on order: A Calvin 38 hull has been shipped to Rockland to be finished by her owner; a 38 hull and top will be shipped to the midcoast to be finished; a Calvin 44 hull has been shipped to her owner in the mid-coast who will finish her; a Calvin 44 has been shipped
