Kelly Norris


Kelly Norris of Readington re- ceived the silver medal in cosme- tology for fantasy makeup in the Esthetics category at the recent SkillsUSA Championship. Kelly was among 49 Polytech students from Hunterdon Central, Delaware Valley, North Hunterdon and Voor- hees High Schools who competed against 22 NJ Career & Technical Schools in the SkillsUSA State Competition to win 22 placing medals. The SkillsUSA champion- ship is the state-level competition for high school and post-secondary students who are enrolled in career and technical education training programs. More than 1600 students competed in over 90 hands-on skill and leadership contests on March 31 in Somerset County.


Family, Career and Community Leaders Association (FCCLA) National Youth Leadership Orga- nization awarded all 13 Polytech Education students with State Gold Medals recognizing their profi- ciency and achievement in projects, leadership skills and career prepa- ration at the State Competition held recently in Cherry Hill. Eleven of these students will represent N.J. and compete at the National level in Orlando, FL, this summer. The

Her sales success earned her the New Jersey Association of Realtors (NJAR) Circle of Excellence Award mul- tiple times, most recently at the Bronze Level in 2011. Mary Woods, Hunterdon Central Regional High School’s Teacher of the Year, has been named Hunter- don County’s Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013. In that capacity, Mary will be serving on county panels, committees, task forces and speaking engagements. She will also be the county representa- tive for New Jersey State Teacher of the Year.


Suzanne Cooley has been named Hunterdon Central’s principal for the 2012-2013 school year by the Board of Education of Hunterdon Central Regional High School. She has been serving as principal of Ber- nards High School since July 2011. Previously, she was vice principal at Hunterdon Central from 2001 to 2011. Ms. Cooley will begin her tenure as principal on July 1.


Victoria Stone has been named to the Dean’s List at Berkeley College, Woodbridge, for the fall semester.


Alexander Fisher made the Dean’s List at Wake Forest University for the fall semester.


Emily Weinick has been named to the Dean’s Honor List at Gettys- burg College for Fall 2011.
