Walk & Run May 12 On Saturday, May 12, Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center, Hunt- erdon Regional Cancer Center and Radom and Wetter Attorneys at Law are sponsoring the 12th Annual Family Fun Walk & Run. All proceeds will support breast care programs at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Cen- ter. The event is being held at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater and is a USA Track and Field (USATF) certified course. Registration for runners and walkers begins at 8 a.m. The 5K run begins at 9 a.m. The two-mile walk and pet walk kicks off at 9:05 a.m. A “Mad Dash” for children begins at 9:45 a.m. Registration can be made in advance for $15 or on the day of the event for $20 and all participants are asked to raise $100. For individuals registered for the Pet Walk, a $10-15 donation is suggested to help defray event costs. Children’s events are free; no registration is necessary. All participants will receive a T-shirt and other give-aways while supplies last. Completion of the badge requires knowledge of winter sports safety, first aid and equipment, as well as demonstrat- ed ability on either skis or a snowboard. The 18 scouts who participated camped at a ranch in the Endless Mountains, skied and snowboarded at Elk Mountain, hiked in the snow and drilled holes in a frozen lake to ice fish. Care Food Program Apples & Books Bugs & Sticks Daycare Center of Branchburg announces its participation in the federally funded Child Care Food Program, designed to provide free and reduced-price meals to children in child care centers and recreation programs. Meals are available at no separate charge to all children 12 and under enrolled in the food program and are served without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, or disability. Under the Eligibility Income Scale, for example, a family with 4 members and a yearly income of $29,055 receives free meals and with a yearly income of $41,348, reduced- priced meals. The Child and Adult Care Food Program is operated in accordance with USDA policy, which does not permit discrimination in the meal service, admis- sions policy or use of any Food Program facility.
