JERSEY REGATTA September 6–9 Royal Channel Islands YC, St Helier YC and St Catherine’s SC EVENT DETAILS: The Brewin Dolphin Jersey Regatta is the leading event in the Islands’ packed sailing programme and the biggest multi-class regatta held in Channel Islands waters. Now in its 14th year, the regatta attracts increasing numbers from Guernsey, the UK and France. Racing takes place in the beautiful natural arena of St Aubin’s Bay and off the Island’s south coast, providing a tremendous spectacle. FORMAT: Sportsboat, cruiser-racer and dayboat classes scheduled to have two races back-to-back on the Friday, with dinghy and sport-catamaran classes having one or two late afternoon races. All classes scheduled to have three races back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday. Trophy and place prizes for each class for each day plus the Brewin Dolphin Best in Class trophies over the three days. Integrated in cruiser-racer class two, the Quarter Ton fleet will compete for the Island ARK trophy. Also prizes for best visiting boats in each class. NORMANDY SAILING WEEK June 8-10 Le Havre EVENT DETAILS: Already the biggest racing event on the French side of the Channel, the event is asserting itself among the major international meetings of northern Europe. In 2012, Normandy Sailing Week has set its sights high with 150 entries targeted (114 in 2011) and nearly 1,000 competitors. Supported by three major clubs (CNPV – SNPH – SRH), a highly involved marina team and the Ligue Haute-Normandie (Upper Normandy League).
