Nando And The Art Of Puppy Training—The Basics
Right, first lets dispel that myth! There is no 'art' in this puppy train- ing stuff. I tried it the nice/clever
way - forget it! It is simply a case of
survival.....it's you or them! (and it's been touch and go this first month I can tell you) They have the edge in so many
ways....the youthful en- ergy, the undiminished exuberance about...well every- thing! ( How can a bug be that interesting?) And a com- pletely unshakable persistence that would do a UN nego- tiator proud and if that wasn't enough they hold the trump
card....they're cuddly, have big soppy eyes and a little wiggly bottom with tail attached.
Sigh....It's been very
wearing...in fact to be honest the whole thing has worn a bit thin. Still lets focus on the positives... I have made progress. My anger management skills have improved (after all there's a difference between a nip and a bite you know) My patience has improved - YES it has!! but even more importantly... My expectations have been lowered to a more realistic level thus reducing the potential feeling of failure. (So important in life don't you think?) Yes I have definitely improved, the pup on the other hand is exactly the same, well maybe there a slight improve- ment here and there.
But I will not give up! I will overcome! I will, I will. Um.... perhaps I should think of 'working with' rather than 'overcoming'?

Yes I will change tack and change what I do (so important in life don't you think? when you're not getting where you want to go) Fret not dear Skye (for that is her name) I will not fail you! Hang on!! That's the problem!! SKYE her name. Firstly we need to take away the 'e' its pretentious and unnecessary giving her airs and graces, that leaves 'sky' which trans- lates as 'air head' which explains a lot! After all we all grow into our names don't we? Me? oh yes me too.
Nando...Naughty and Opinionated....spot on eh? he he!
Love from The Amazing Nando (B Tech teaching)
