By BRIAN WARREN While I was working the Bounder booth
at the Ottawa International Motorcycle Show in January, a number of people came by to suggest our next man cave feature. When someone suggested we check out
a 1500 sq. ft. loft that featured a bar, pool table, shuffle board and enough pullout couches to sleep 16, I was definitely interested. So photographer Todd Langille and
I headed out one Sunday morning in February to a dirt road near North Augusta to meet one of the founders of the Cow Paddy Boys, a not-for-profit group of motorcycle enthusiasts who fund-raise for charity. Greg and Susie Kinghorn showed us
around their 145 acre property, which is also home to their business, Nature’s Powers. They sell wind and solar power equipment. Then it was upstairs to their
entertainment room. We were really impressed with the
size, and how comfortable the room was. It features heated wood floors, a bar,

bathroom (with cool taps) and lots of motorcycle pictures from past Cow Paddy weekends in North Augusta (that’s a whole other story). Greg explained that it ‘s heated, with a
combination of gas and solar energy that keeps it toasty. A recent deck gives you a view of the back of the property that includes his herd of highland beef cattle. In the fall, the man cave becomes the hunt camp for his hunting group. Greg built it in 2002 and still wants to
add more features, but both he and his wife are directors of the Old Bastards Vintage Motorcycle Club; and they’re running a business and a farm, so it will always be a work in progress. What about the name Cow Paddy Boys? The name stuck when Greg drove one
of his Harleys to town and his mechanic noted the cow manure on the wheels − one of the drawbacks of living on a country road. Greg receives a Moosehead sign and
a free case of Moosehead beer for being featured in Bounder Magazine.
