Sip-N-Spoon KIDS CAN be picky eaters, making

moms more than willing to spend any amount of money to enhance their children’s eating experience. Moms, however, are happy to spend under $3 retail for the Sip- N-Spoon, a spoon with a built- in straw. And retailers selling to them are happy to accommodate, while still making a 300 percent markup on the fun and functional eating utensil. The Sip-N-Spoon is more than a dinnertime utensil; it’s an anytime utensil, used for eating and slurping cereal, soup, milkshakes and more. “The concept of the Sip-N-Spoon was born from watching my kids eat cereal,” says John Guardara, owner. “They always left the milk behind, and we wanted to fi x that.”

Other opportunities Guardara has noticed include interest from bars and restaurants wanting to add a little something to their frozen drinks. “I’ve seen our brightly colored utensil added to spice up a Piña Colada,” he says. Made of plastic, Guardara has made sure to complete FDA testing, and ensures the utensil is BPA (industrial chemical) free. Dishwasher safe, the Sip-N- Spoon can be easily cleaned to be available for every meal. While there are six colors available,
