a label and only got PR for the bands they had singed or were managing themselves, so it was all a big fat scam. They insisted that I could NOT get any PRESS for my version of Paranoid before I had a full album. My manager said BS! Fired them and took over the PR part, since she comes from marketing, herself. She wrote press releases and got the attention from Revolver Magazine, Blabbermouth, Classic Rock Magazine and eventually Metal Hammer and Total Guitar... I was also nominated by Hollywood Music in Media Awards for best Metal Song 2011 for my version of Paranoid, This gave me a two page spread by a nationwide newspaper in my home country, Norway. So that PR agency was way off when they said I could not get any attention for doing a cover.
Jumping ahead to December 2011. I recorded my official debut EP „Evolution“ here in the UK with Sterling Winfield. It was fun to pick him up at the airport. We had great chemistry in the recording studio. I am VERY happy with how the recording came out. Totally organic. NO Auto tune, NO Protools magic. We did it until it was right. And that is really cool to know! Some times we would work 15 hours a day. The short day was 12 hours so it was hard work but very fun. I recorded all the guitars and all the vocals for 5 songs in just 11 days. 4 of the songs are on my official Debut EP „Evolution“ that I released this week.
The not so cool part was the music video and interview/ behind the scenes shots. We hired this s.c. Video producer to do it. He came up in the middle of the night and was supposed to start shooting the next day at noon.
We had 3 days to do 2 music videos and the documentary. I was ready at noon but he was not even there. Turns out he was in another city getting equipment. So I waited for six hours and it was not cool. The basement he wanted to use was not heated and I froze my ass and fingers off shredding under those conditions. I even shot OUTDOORS in sub zero temperature with my not very warm outfit on. Every day it was
