She was interested in how sculpture could be worn as adornment by men or women. These small-scale sculptures are initially made in wax and have been cast in silver with the addition of commonplace ephemera. These are sometimes personal items such as hair or nail clippings or less personal things simply found in a personal space; for example flies from her studio have been used. By repositioning them as adornment they have been liberated from their customary perceptions: flies become beautiful arrangements of shapes and patterns to create sculptures that can be adorned. Redundant hair and nail clippings become precious mementos, echoing and yet evolving Victorian sensibilities.
