Artist Laure Bury and Sculptor Jennifer Jayarajah return to Kelly College for their second joint exhibition “Ephemeral”. Following their successful exhibition “A Labour of Love” in 2009, Laure and Jennifer who live in Tavistock and studied at Plymouth College of Art and Design return with a new collection of vibrant and exciting work.

Since their show in 2009, Laure’s collectable Butterfly paintings have been shown in prestigious galleries around the country including St Ives, Lyndhurst and London alongside the works of Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol and Banksy. She also held a successful exhibition at “The Fairway Village”, a luxury hospitality complex at the All England Tennis Club during the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament last year where her work was enjoyed by a host of celebrities.

the ever changing depth of human emotions which are “ephemeral like a butterfly”. Laure has developed her own set of techniques in oils to evoke a breadth of emotions through the building of layers, creation of textures and intuitive use of colour in delicately balanced compositions. Each painting has its own narrative.
Her well-loved landscapes and seascapes capture glimpses of Dartmoor’s ever changing light as well as nature’s hues and textures along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall. Jennifer’s current body of work came about following a recent period of experimentation. It marks the beginning of a change in direction with her creative practice, from large to small-scale sculpture.
