EXERCISE YAND DRIVE

OUR SEX

Most of you have heard of supplements and drugs that claim to enhance your sex-drive. Did you know that exer- cises alone can create the same enhancing effect... with better results? Longer, more permanent results and with no damaging side effects!

by martin alonzo SEX-DRIVE, HORMONES AND

STRESS Your body’s ability to maintain a healthy sex-drive is directly linked to your ability to

create and synthesize the sex hormones: estrogen and testosterone. Stress, the type and amounts, along with your ability to cope with it, are intimately tied into your body’s ability to be healthy and thus create a healthy sex-drive. There are many factors in our everyday lives that create stress (psychological, physical,

mental, emotional, spiritual, environmental, etc.) and ultimately the ability to manage it. Stress good or bad is interpreted and acted upon by your body in much the same manner. For example, when you exercise hard and your body goes crazy pushing blood to your vital organs and muscles to get you through, this form of stress is good. You create a demanding situation momentarily, that creates the long-term benefit of your body becoming stron- ger. Once done with this short-term stress, your body readjusts and goes back to its state of homeostasis (stability), starting the recovery processes. An example of bad or unhealthy stress is excessive worry. Worry creates the same

stress hormones released during an intense exercise session… now however, there is no positive outcome, no positive goal to be reached, no short-term stress followed by rest, recovery and growth. There is only the unknown, followed by an undetermined length of long-term-stress on your system. This long-term stress created by not knowing what will happen in the future (let’s say

worrying whether your partner really loves you, or if your boss is going to fire you) is much more damaging to your body and mind than any passing stressor. This is because the stress is long-term; there is no perceivable end in-sight—it could last for hours, days, weeks, months, or indefinitely.
