O(H) A fast-paced, intricately layered mega-theatrical new work written and
performed by the dynamic duo, Liz Casebolt and Joel Smith. Speaking directly to the audience while singing and dancing, the performance is layered with brash humor, show tunes, imaginative choreography and pop culture references. Relying on their friendship they deconstruct the creative process in an evening that demonstrates their own limitations as artists. The pair reveals their choreographic methods and collaborative rapport to analyze gender and sexuality politics as well as the overly seri- ous traditions of modern dance. Runs through Sunday, February 19 at The Actors Company Theatre, 916a N Formosa Avenue, West Hollywood. Tickets: 800.838.3006

come their mothers? That topic is pondered in Leslie Jordan’s hilarious and touching new romp, Fruit Fly. Mr. Jordan travels back in time using show- and-tell to take the audience on the ride of a lifetime. From the day a teen- age Leslie sits down with his poor, clueless mother to inform her that he has decided to forego college to become a female impersonator which would ultimately lead to his current impressive career. Jordan reminisces about when he stepped off a Greyhound bus in 1982 from the hills of Tennessee to Hollywood and how he never looked back. Today, he has performed in hun- dreds of television shows, films and commercials and has become a familiar face on the entertainment scene; best-known as Beverley Leslie onWill and Grace. Runs throughSaturday, February 18 at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Boulevard (1/2 block east of La Brea) in Hollywood. Tickets: 323.957.1884
