Around the Clubs


Paul Harris Fellow Pat Nash, Lieutenant General (retired) and second in command of the Irish Army, was guest of honour and speaker at the International Meeting held by Glanmire Rotary Club at Fitzgerald's Vienna Woods Hotel on Friday 4 November 2011. He spoke of his time as head of the United Nations EUFOR forces in Chad when he was based in Paris.


Local children enjoy the Kids Day Out planned by the Rotary Club of Letterkenny at Halloweʼen


Pictured at the recent Monaghan Rotary Blood Pressure Clinic and Shelterbox Display are Club International Service Chair Raymond Wilkinson, Club President David Drum and Club Secretary Tom Britton. The Rotary display attracted a great deal of interest.


Pictured in front of Leinster House are members of the Rotary Clubs of Monaghan and North Down on a recent joint outing to Dublin. The programme included a tour of Leinster House, with visits to the Dáil and Seanad chambers in session. The two Rotary Clubs have been twinned for over twenty years.


Present at the Dinner Dance held by North Down Rotary Club recently were, from left, President Denis and Noelle Neill of Bangor Rotary Club, President Gregg and Helen Taylor of North Down Rotary and President David and Deirdre Drum of the Monaghan Club.


The family of Strabane Lifford President John McCosker organised a surprise 40th Wedding Anniversary party in Jackson's Hotel Ballybofey, but used the event to fund raise a total opf £900 for his Rotary club. The family requested the quests to donate money instead of giving presents.


Brian and Pamela Johnson with "Nana" at People's Park, Waterford where Rotary organised a walk to raise funds for Irish Guide Dogs.
