DUNCHARON (Greece-Fr-Ger) From Attenberg director Athina Rachel Tsangari, Duncharon is the futuristic story of marooned astronauts. The English-language fi lm will shoot in Greece, Iceland, France, Germany, Scandinavia and the UK. Budgeted at $5.1m (¤4m), $1.3m (¤1m) is in place from backers including Haos Film, Faliro House Productions, Maharaja Films and The Match Factory, which is handling sales. LITTLE DOG BOY (UK) The fi rst feature from artist Henry Coombes, Little Dog Boy explores the characters of his Bafta Scot- land-nominated 2009 short The Bedfords and the affair between Victorian painter Sir Edwin Land- seer and the Duchess of Bedford. Produced by Brocken Spectre, the budget is $1.8m (¤1.4m), with Creative Scotland investing $432,330 (¤338,490). HUNGRY MOUTH (Peinasmeno Stoma) (Greece) Wasted Youth, directed by Argyris Papadimitro- poulos and Jan Vogel, was the opening fi lm at Rot- terdam last year. Papadimitropoulos is attending CineMart with his third feature, Hungry Mouth, a thriller about a law student who uses the princi- ples of dog training to lead an upper-class couple into a cliffhanger situation. Produced by Stefi Pro- ductions, the project plans to shoot in Athens and one other European capital with a budget of $1.4m (¤1.1m). THE MIDFIELDER (El 5 De Talleres) (Arg-Urug-Ger-Neth) The Midfi elder is the story of the captain of a minor Argentinian football team whose career is coming to an end. It is the second feature from Adrian Biniez, whose Gigante was the co-winner of the Jury Grand Prix at the Berlinale in 2009. The Span- ish-language film is budgeted at $934,500 (¤733,000), with $305,000 (¤239,217) in place. It will be produced by Mutante Cine and co-pro- duced by Morocha Films, Pandora Film Produk- tion and Topkapi Films. NUDE AREA (Naaktgebied) (Neth-Ger) Nude Area tells the story of Naomi, a 16-year-old Dutch girl who experiences a lesbian crush on a young Moroccan girl of the same age. Director Urszula Antoniak’s previous work includes Code Blue, selected for Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes last year. Nude Area is looking for a sales agent and an international co-production partner. The $1.2m (¤925,000) project is produced by Topkapi Films and co-produced by Pandora Film Produk- tion. The Netherlands Film Fund is investing $670,000 (¤526,000). Contact Topkapi Films

REALITY (Réalité) (Fr) French director Quentin Dupieux drew acclaim for Rubber, his film about a killer tyre that pre- miered in Critics’ Week at Cannes. His latest fi lm, Wrong, premieres at Sundance. Reality combines characters including an eight-year-old girl, a talk- show host suffering a loss of confi dence and a has- been director trying to make a horror fi lm. Set to shoot in 2012, the $3.8m (¤3m) French-language project has $2.8m (¤2.2m) in place. It is produced by Realitism Films, which is hoping to fi nd foreign investors and distributors.
