ince it was founded in September 2009, Fotolighthouse has notched up an impressive client list, its pictures hav- ing featured in magazines such as Mode Men, Complete Fashion, Flair West Africa, as well as Island Explorer. The company has also worked with Total, Mouka Foam,


Omatek, Hennessey and many more. “One of the things our clients commend us for is the quality


of the images they receive,” says Chief Creative Officer Deji Olatunde. “We treat every image individually to ensure they are all excellent and to make sure our clients enjoy working with us.” Fotolighthouse handles every type of photography, from wed-


dings, portraits, fashion and special occasions to architecture, food, nature and documentary. The company has covered events in Nigeria and around the world and won the Best Fashion Photo of the Year award at the 2011 Nigeria Photography Awards. The firm also earned a nomination in the Best Portrait Photo category.


Snap happy “Before I went into professional pho- tography, I worked with Accenture,” says Olatunde. While there, his name became synonymous with quality pictures and even his boss noticed his passion for photography. This led to invitations to cover events and there came a point when he realised he was earning more from his photography that his day job. Olatunde, a graduate of the


New York Institute of photography, is keen to state that everyone at Fotolighthouse has a real passion for what they do. Their talents are also fine-tuned to meet the growing standards of photography. The com- pany uses a range of modern high- tech equipment, including various lenses, computers, studio lights, cam- eras and light modifiers. However, Olatunde insists that the people handling it are more important. Located in Yaba, Lagos, Fotolighthouse plans to acquire

another studio space, where it could offer walk-in services. It also aims to engage the services of more qualified photographers and editors and to formally launch its own training school.
