FOOD AND DRINK PICCOLO MONDO CL ADVENTUROUS ASSICS
When did you last try a perfect chocolate fondant – firm on the outside, gooey in the middle? At Piccolo Mondo, the wait for dessert is worth every second.
I
n the 20 minutes it takes them to create this piece of art, you anticipate breaking the soft mould and letting the chocolate pour out, meeting the melting ice cream halfway at the caramelised walnuts.
In those 20 minutes, you’ll dream of how
it will melt in your mouth and excite your endorphins, making you wish for it every night. At Piccolo Mondo, the dessert may be the perfect end to the meal, but you certainly won’t forget anything that goes before it. At Piccolo, they know how to create the
perfect meal in the perfect ambiance. Every dish on the menu is carefully prepared with all its customers in mind. The restaurant embrac- es the concept of ‘small world’ , meaning eve- rything from the food, the décor, the music and the clientele comes from every corner of the world. And it never stays the same. Every so often, the management shakes its magic wand and redesigns and recreates the space with a fresh palette of colours and patterns.

What will you choose? Piccolo Mondo has successfully fused favourites from Italy to Lebanon to America on one menu, creating a real gourmet experience. The goats cheese salad, for example, is simply amazing - a tart goats cheese toast on top of a bed of let- tuce, drizzled with a balsamic dressing and framed with slices of sweet apples – especially if you want to save the calories for dessert. If you’re in the mood for a simple, yet authen-
tic Italian staple, the fettuccine pesto will hit the spot. The tangled web of fettuccine pasta is light- ly coated with just enough pesto, contrasting with the bright red plate it sits on. Meanwhile, if it’s meat you’re craving, the Lebanese mixed grill will hit the spot. This plate of succulent chicken, kafta and lamb is grilled to perfection, served with a side of hummus and garlic mayonnaise and decorated with spicy marinated pita bread. There is no lack of choice on the restaurant’s
menu and this small world of a restaurant has many facets. Whether you are there for a busi-
ness lunch or a romantic dinner, the friendly staff will take care of you. They can take you from a restaurant to a bar, and from a lounge to a club. After a delicious meal, you could go upstairs and sink into their oversized armchairs with a book in one hand and a shisha pipe in the other. Or, after a delicious meal, you might choose to sit back and enjoy the live band, or get up and learn how to salsa. If that’s not enough, why not burn some calories dancing the night away with resi- dent DJ Elio or one of their famous guest DJs. The name Piccolo Mondo club is synonymous
with a great night out, and the name Piccolo Mondo restaurant is synonymous with fantastic food. There’s always a reason to go to Piccolo.
