WOMEN IN TRADING FXTM: How did you star t
your career, and what brought you to Institutional FX Sa les?
SS: I began my financial career
in 2005 when I became the assi stant to the Relationship Manager in a pr ivate bank in Geneva. Here I gained fur ther exper ience when I moved to the Active Advi sory team where we traded equities, bonds and der ivatives .
This was all fine and dandy,
but quickly I di scovered that something was missing, trading these traditional asset classes seemed rather pedestr ian to me, I needed something that could move me, something that would make me feel on the edge yet sti ll in control, I needed to feel bul l i sh!
I looked for a new cha l lenge
and gained an interest in the sti ll growing FX market. I chose
to join ACM due to
thei r globa l presence and the fact that their cut ting edge technology had won var ious awards
FXTM: Which have been
the main changes in your work since the merger between Swissquote Bank and ACM?
SS: Swi s squote’s FX depar tment specia l izes in
of fer ing onl ine FX trading to retail and institutional cl ient s . Representing Swissquote Bank has made it easier for me to approach prospects and cl ient s , previously working for “only” a broker requi red far more convincing on my par t , especia l ly on the subject of a cl ient’s protection of funds .

deal ing desk structured in Swi s squote Bank?
SS: Our FX deal ing desk is
located in Geneva . The team i s made up of 8 dealers monitoring the ri sk management system as well as accepting phone orders from cl ients who want to execute FX transactions on Spot, Options, Swaps and Forwards. Thei r backgrounds are wel l rounded from working as FX traders at other banks and equity prop trading fi rms.

has Swissquote Bank been operating on the FX market?
FX Swissquote has been active in
the Forex business since 2007, ACM since 2002.
FXTM: Which FX products
do you of fer to institutional cl ients?
SS: We of fer onl ine spot FX
trade execution current ly on 60 currency pairs plus metals . We also of fer phone execution on Spot, Options, Swaps and Forwards .

to Banks and Broker/Dealers which have their own platforms and wish to connect direct ly to our FIX API or hedge their exposures manual ly via our trading platforms or telephone.

FXTM: What are the most
important ski l ls in your job? SS: I am a very service
orientated person in nature, so above all it has to be the abi l ity to both listen and communicate. The cl ients’ wishes are important and I pride myself in being able to provide good tai lor made solutions for them.
