Your music video for your single Yo-Yo is being released today. Are you excited? Yes! I feel that the video really compli- ments the song and reflects its mood. It works perfectly for me.

I’ve heard that a second solo album is in the production.

The stressful lifestyle you lead in Girls Aloud helped create the general concept for Cinderella’s Eyes. Did you find this album therapeutic to

write in any way? No not at all. When I’m being creative I’m at my happiest and confident. I don’t think you should keep things with you which happened already, you should deal with them then.

Has it been difficult transferring from life in a group to working as a solo artist? It’s a process everyday you get a bit more confident. This has been one of the happiest times in my life. It was a bit of a culture shock at first. I became very aware that there wasn’t four other bodies on the stage and the fireworks. Now everything works and I’m much more confident.

Should we expect the unexpected from you? I’m at the studio whenever I have any spare time. I’m keen to get better and for my music to progress. I’ve already put together a very different sounding song. I’m prepared to try anything in music.

Finally, are there any tips or advice you would give to young musicians trying to break into the music industry? You have to be determined enough to ride through all of the troughs and peaks and re- ally work hard, but keep every birthday wish with you.
