While there are a whole lot of fancy (narrow) tube styles, I decided that safety and function were more important to me, so I choose a 6”-wide step made of molded polymer plas- tic with aluminum support. TRUXEDO TRUCK BED COVER
Next I wanted to put on a truck bed cover, but I personally don’t like hard covers because they can be limiting. Aſt er a lot of research, I decided on a Truxedo Soft Roll-Up Cover. It takes under an hour to install yourself. It has railings along each side, with industrial-strength
Velcro to secure the top. Once everything is in place, just roll the cover from front to back, securing it tightly on both sides, and when it has completely unrolled, simply push down a lever for a complete seal. I’ve been caught many times in torrential downpours, and not a single drop of water got inside! You have the option of unrolling it partially or completely. When you get to camp and disconnect your gooseneck, you can roll out the cover for a waterproof cover for your truck bed. EZ CONNECTOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTION SYSTEM
I wanted to redo my electrical plug from the trailer to the truck, and 7
I (really) did jump for joy when I found the EZ Connector! Plugging in the old-style connector is a royal pain—too many times I was on my hands and knees to get the plug in the socket absolutely straight, and ultimately the connection became unstable over time. When it is unstable, you are talking about your brakes and your trailer lights! T is EZ Connector was 100% trouble-free so that my lights and brakes worked perfectly every time regardless of conditions. T e EZ Con- nector socket is installed on your truck and the EZ Connector plug on your trailer. I took it to my mechanic and he installed the new unit in about half an hour. EZ Connector has a very strong magnetic connection, and when
the plug end nears the socket, the two snap together with a resounding CLICK! T e unit has silicone O-rings and sealant injected inside so the system is totally waterproof. Ahhhh… no more get ing down on my knees and no more worn out plugs! I believe this will be the last trailer plug I will ever have to buy.
