SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Pyeroy’s ability to bring together the specialist skills, experience and effective project management capabilities singles it out from competitors and shows the real added value clients benefit from.

Jim Anderson, the company’s divisional director, said: “The use of turnkey management solutions is recommended best practice when working in the offshore sector.

“The approach provides clients with clear benefits in project planning, control and cost efficiencies, while quality and contract monitoring systems ensure projects are delivered safely on time and to budget.”

WIND POWER IN THE IRISH SEA One project which demonstrates the expertise Pyeroy brings was the multi- million pound contract to re-paint one of Europe’s largest offshore wind farms - the Arklow Offshore Wind Power Plant in the Irish Sea for the client Smulders BV Arklow.

Working in difficult conditions 10km off the coast of County Wicklow, the Gateshead- based firm had to overcome considerable logistical challenges to undertake the maintenance and refurbishment of seven 3.6 megawatt turbines providing renewable energy to meet the electricity requirements of around 16,000 Irish households.

Work on another project in the Irish Sea, this time for client Areva T&D, saw the utilisation of roped access to re-paint its topside structure situated off Walney Island, Cumbria.

NORFOLK COAST

Elsewhere, Pyeroy demonstrated it expertise for Heerema Fabrication, completing on schedule and to budget a contract for the scaffolding, painting and containment of two substation platform topsides in the difficult conditions off the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm in the North Sea.

They constantly strive to develop new training programmes which will develop and enhance the industry and the individuals working within it.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND COLLABORATION

As part of their policy of continuous improvement they have recently developed a range of programmes covering elements of renewable energy such as Solar PV, Solar Thermal and Ground Source Heat Pumps and are currently looking at programmes for the Wind Sector.

NETA are happy to collaborate with many different organisations and are currently one of the preferred providers of training in conjunction with the National Renewable Energy Centre (NAREC) in Blyth. Their key strength has been the ability to develop learning programmes which meet specific client requirements rather than limiting choice to standard course availability.
