What is your favourite city? “Oh, it has to be Paris. I fall head-over-heels in love with her charms every time I visit. “I speak fluent French; adore going to the theatre and museums; swoon at the haute-cou- ture along Avenue Montaigne; stock up with French frocks and fragrances at Galleries Layfette; and adore people watching, as I dip into some tasty nosh at La Coupole.”
What has been your best investment? “A Victorian chair that I bought for £40 at a county auction. I gather it’s worth a fortune now, but I’d never sell it.!
Are you a saver or spender? “A bit of both!”

what new one law would you pass? “Bring back some form of National Service.”
What are your three favourite films? “West Side Story, The Deer Hunter and any film directed byMike Leigh.
Who is your favourite singer? “Currently it’s John Mayer.”
What is your favourite possession? “My Cartier watch, given to me by my late husband, Carl Wayne.”
What is your favourite scent? “Muguet Blanc by Van Cleef & Arpels.”
Who are your favourite actors: “Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Colin Firth, Nicholas Cage and Dustin Hoffman. All of whom have great acting depth and staying power.”

would you invite to a dinner party? “Stephen Fry, Marilyn Monroe, Alan Bennett, Noel Coward and Picasso. A fabu- lous mix of brains, beauty and brilliant talent.”
