Michigan firm Dennis M. Pousak acted for AeroStrategy LLC on the US aspects of the endeavour while Squire, Sanders & Dempsey (US and UK) LLP acted for ICF on the US and UK aspects.

Few said: “We previously acted for AeroStrategy on the sale of its MRO database business in 2008 and it was a pleasure to work with the firm again. This was an interesting effort which required bringing together the skills of a number of different legal areas as well as involvement of US corporate attorneys in an advisory capacity. We wish AeroStrategy and ICF every success with the future growth of the company.”

Boyes Turner associate Katie James wins award

Katie James, associate in the Boyes Turner corporate recovery team, is the proud winner of the Sue Ryder Women of Achievement ‘Employee of the Year’ award for the Berkshire region*.

All of the Sue Ryder award finalists are championed by local women who have excelled in their field. James was nominated by her colleague, Caroline Wallis, partner in the wealth protection team, who recognised James’ efforts were deserving of this award.

James was nominated for her fundraising endeavours which have seen over £35,000 being raised towards the Debbie Fund which raises money for the UCL Cancer Research Institute to find a treatment for cervical cancer. Her efforts were prompted by the loss of a colleague’s wife who died of cervical cancer, leaving three children behind. The Debbie Fund was created in memory of Debbie Phillips, to increase awareness

of the disease and to raise funds for UCL Cancer research. James’ fundraising event saw seven teams take part in the Three Peaks Challenge where the participants face a tough physical journey climbing the three highest peaks in the UK (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) within 24 hours.

Andrew Chalkley, Boyes Turner CEO, commented: “As a firm, we encourage our employees to have a healthy work-life balance, which Katie has embraced wholeheartedly. We are very proud of Katie’s achievements inside and out of the office. To receive recognition through winning this award is just deserts for someone who will help so many others through her fundraising activities.”
