food, and more. SANTA ROSA, CA. ~

December 11 - 20. Show times are at 7pm on Friday and Saturday, and at 3pm on Sunday. During winter months the Sun is below the horizon more than 12 hours in Sonoma County. On these longer cool clear nights we have ample opportunity to observe our beautiful winter nighttime sky. We'll tour our traditional winter sky and more defini-

tively discover winter's beau- tiful deep space nebulae and clusters. We'll travel through interstellar space to see star forming regions, young and old stellar clusters, and other distant objects in our winter sky.

My Journey ...CONTINUED FROM PAGE16

come. Just as the sun and the rainbow were part of the pic- ture on the faded card, so too, symbolically, both the lovely pathway and the faded card are a necessity. I knew the journey was mine and mine alone. I have walked this life in a particular time and place on a journey of ignorance. When the pathway changed,

I was forced to change with it. I did not want to change. I fought it until I realized I was walking alone. The cardboard picture represented a stum- bling block. Oh, how I longed for the awake dream to be a reality! It was so beautiful, so perfect, and it was mine, all mine. I loved it so much that I looked forward to every single step, breathing in the fresh- ness of its beauty. Facing the reality of the moment, I understood the truth. Bits and pieces of life are like the illusion of the

awake dream in all its glory, and its reality is also like the faded cardboard picture in all its earthly trappings. A perfect path is not always an illusion, but I believe it is rare. Confusion about perfec- tion comes from the confu- sion that lies deep within the secret channels of our knowl- edge and our desires. What I thought, believed, hoped for, and wanted to be, was an illusion. However, I do not despair. There is truth, hope, and love to be found in life’s reality. Having faced both the perfection of the lovely path- way and the stumbling block presented by the faded card- board picture, it is important to remember the purpose of the pathway. I am on a jour- ney. How well the journey is traveled, how much effort goes into the journey, where it leads, and how it ends…is my choice.

"Aren't you going to fix the mistake on your sign?" "What mistake?" the grocer asked. "Before I put up that sign no one ever bought more than one eggplant."

Isn't it cool when the days that are supposed to feel good, actually do?
